The artist, who refuses to reveal his name to all but his closest friends, was born in Louisiana on March 18, 1983, and, but for some few excursions, has remained there for most of his life. He has not even been outside the US more than once, and that one time was for less than an hour.
Raised Christian, he started questioning his beliefs after reading part of the first chapter of Isaac Asimov on the Bible near the end of his sophomore year of high school. For a brief time after that--at least up through the next school year--he bounced between atheism and agnosticism, finally settling on the latter.
From what he can piece together, for the first year of Kindergarten, he was living in Plaquemine with his mother. For the remainder of Kindergarten up through 2nd grade, he went to Walker Lower Elementary School, and was living with his father, around Livingston and Walker. He then moved back with his mother to attend Crescent Elementary and Jr. High up through 8th grade. An important event happened to him during the summer between 7th and 8th grades: he attended the ADVANCE program on the campus of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, taking Latin, which he still does not know well. Here, he meet an individual who introduced him to anime. He has for the longest time wanted to thank this person (the summer was of 1996, if his calculations are correct, and there was this boy who was mocking the girl in question by mimicking Happosai of Ranma 1/2 and calling her, "Ugly lady!" He also remembers that she was a fan of Sailor Moon, and he seems to be trying to stress that he has for the longest time wanted to thank this person). He swore that this would be the first school he would attend for all the years he possibly could.
After 8th grade, he went to live with his father again, and attended Doyle Jr. High and High School during his freshman and sophomore years of high school, anxiously awaiting his junior year, as LSMSA is a two-year school. He was accepted to LSMSA, and there spent what he considers the two best years of his educational carreer, though those are also the two years during which his grades dropped considerably. He graduated from LSMSA in 2001. He now attends LSU as an undergraduate in mathematics, and while he might have made new friends, he still thinks of those he made at LSMSA as his best.
